Linda Cardellini to Star In Friday the 13th Prequel Series Crystal Lake

Linda Cardellini is going to summer camp, as she’s set to star in Peacock’s Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake. THR reports that the Dead to Me and Mad Men alumna will play Pamela Voorhees in the series, which is set up at Peacock under Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry).

Horror fans will of course know Pamela as the mother of Jason Voorhees and the killer in the events of the first Friday the 13th. The character was played by Betsy Palmer in the original film, Paula Shaw in Freddy vs. Jason, and Nana Visitor in the 2009 film reboot. Pamela, who was desperate to keep Crystal Lake closed after Jason drowned in the lake while the camp counselors were partying, turned to murder in the events of the first film and kicked off the horror franchise that would follow.

Plot details on the new series have yet to be revealed. The show has been in the works for some years, with Bryan Fuller originally set to write and showrun before he left the project over creative differences.
