Loki’s Michael Waldron is set to write the script for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Deadline reports that Waldron, who created and served as showrunner for Loki season one, will now write The Kang Dynasty as well as Avengers: Secret Wars. He was already set to write the latter film, which will follow Kang Dynasty, and also wrote Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.

Kevin Feige will of course produce the film, which will be the fifth full Avengers film. Plot details are not yet known, though the name obviously suggests an association with Kang, who was the main villain of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania and appeared in Loki. Jonathan Majors played the role up until now, though there’s no word on whether that will continue considering Majors’ legal problems involving allegations of domestic assault from March of this year. Majors has been charged with assault, attempted assault, harassment, and aggravated harassment and his trial will begin on Wednesday.

Avengers: Kang Dynasty is seeking a new director after Destin Daniel Cretton stepped back in order to focus on other MCU projects including his Wonder Man TV series and a Shang-Chi sequel. It is set to release on May 1st, 2026.
