Martin Freeman has read the script for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and is looking forward to filming the MCU film. Freeman is set to reprise his role as Everett Ross in the sequel, and spoke about it on The One Show (per Metro).

Asked whether he could give any information about the movie, Freeman said, “No, apart from the fact that it’s happening because, as you will have guessed, Marvel have sworn us all to secrecy.” He added that he’s read the script and expects to begin filming soon in the US.

“I’ve read the script. It’s very good and we will be doing it at some point I guess in the next several months,” said Freeman. “I’ll be going to the States and doing that. But I’m very excited about it, yeah.”

The film is confirmed feature the returns of Lupita Nyong’o, Freeman, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright. T’Challa will not return, as Marvel is not recasting the role after Chadwick Boseman passed away last year. Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, it will, in the words of Marvel, “continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release on July 8th, 2022.
