During the 2022 D23 Expo, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that WandaVision director Matt Shakman has been confirmed for the director’s in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four film. The announcement was made during the Marvel Studios showcase earlier today.
The new reboot for Fantastic Four will be the inaugural Phase Six production of the MCU. Shakman is one of the only names attached to the film at this time, with no final casting announcements having been made. Previously, John Krasinski portrayed a version of Reed Richards from a different dimension of the Multiverse in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
Matt Shakman replaces Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts for the film, who was previously attached to the project. The film, which is the first iteration of the characters (beyond Mr. Fantastic in Multiverse of Madness) in the MCU, is set to hit theaters on November 8th, 2024.
