Marvel Taps Writer For X-Men MCU Film

Marvel has found the writer for their planned introduction of the X-Men into the MCU. Deadline reports that Michael Lesslie has signed on to write the screenplay for Marvel’s live-action X-Men. The film is said to still be in the early stages of development, with no director or cast yet set.
Lesslie most recently helped relaunch the Hunger Games franchise with Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and wrote the upcoming Now You See Me 3. Kevin Feige will produce the new film, which will be the official introduction of Marvel’s famed mutant property into the MCU.
The X-Men are on a high right now thanks to X-Men ’97, which earned critical raves and great viewership numbers with the first season that just concluded on Disney+. The sole Marvel film for 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine, is of course X-Men-related as well.
