Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Officially Coming to End in 2020
The Agents of SHIELD will ride off into the sunset in 2020 after seven years. ABC announced on Thursday that Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will conclude with its seventh season, which will air next summer. YOu can see the announcement tweet below.
We’ve known for a while that the series would get a seventh season, which was ordered back in November of last year. We also knew that it would likely be the last, making this just the official word.
“When you know that’s what you’re doing, you can take greater risks, of life and death,” Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb said of the show ending. “Those kinds of decisions suddenly now are real on the table because you’re not playing how do we undo this when we get to the next season. You’re playing that this is going to be the end of the story.” He also teased the what’s to come without discounting the possibility that we might see these characters again down the road:
“I personally believe that every great Marvel story ends to be continued, but the short answer is, yes, it will conclude in a way that is incredibly emotional and in the best ways. It’s funny, it’s heartbreaking.”
Next summer’s Season 7 will be the last for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Thanks to our fans for allowing us to be the longest-running Marvel TV series to-date. ❤ https://t.co/1PdHDDKXll
