Marvel’s Helstrom is being sent back to hell, as the supernatural series has been canceled by Hulu after one season. THR reports that the streamer has pulled the plug on the critical and commercial dud, which premiered in October and puts an end to the last live-action Marvel television series not created under Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios.

The series came from former Marvel Entertainment head of TV Jeph Loeb and starred Tom Austen as Daimon Helstrom. It had originally been planned to release alongside a planned Ghost Rider series under an “Adventure Into Fear” banner for Marvel, but creative differences resulted in Ghost Rider being canceled during development.

Loeb still has two animated series coming up through Marvel: MODOK and Hit-Monkey. Both will arrive on Hulu in early 2021.
