Warner Bros. has made a couple of changes to its 2021 release slate, bumping Mortal Kombat back and shifting Tom & Jerry forward. The company has moved the live-action/CGI hybrid Tom & Jerry forward a week from March 5th to February 26th, while the Mortal Kombat reboot has moved back to April 16th. Mortal Kombat didn’t have a confirmed release date in recent weeks, but the last revealed date had been January 15th.

Tom & Jerry will follow Chloë Grace Moretz as Kayla, a new employee at the extravagant Park hotel who hires broke alley cat Tom to get rid of mouse Jerry in an attempt to secure her job. Michael Peña co-stars as Terrance, the deputy general manager of the hotel who acts as a bully to Kayla and begins clashing with his new employee as she impresses upper management with her battle against the animal duo. Rob Delaney, Colin Jost, and Ken Jeong also star in the film, which is directed by Tim Story from a script by Kevin Costello.

Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat is directed by Simon McQuoid and stars Joe Taslim as Sub Zero, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson “Jax” Bridges, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, and Lewis Tan. Plot details have yet to be revealed, though it’s likely to be follow the franchise’s premise of fighters battling to protect Earth from Outworld via a ritual tournament to the death.
