Netflix Announces New Arthurian Series Cursed From Frank Miller & Tom Wheeler

Netflix has announced a new original drama series, Cursed, from Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. The series will be based on Miller and Wheeler’s companaion illustrated young adult novel and reimagines the Arthurian legend. Wheeler is writing the novel while Miller provides illustration, and both will executive produce the series. Simon & Schuster will publish the book in fall of 2019.

The series (and novel that it’s based on) is told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.

The series will have a ten-episode order.
