Netflix Officially Renews Devil May Cry Animated Series for Second Season

Netflix officially announced today that the Devil May Cry animated series, based on Capcom’s hit video game franchise, has been renewed for a second season. The new series debuted earlier this month on the streamer.
There are no details yet on Season 2, but Netflix revealed some new key artwork to go along with the announcement that Season 2 is “coming soon” on the Netflix Geeked account on X (see below).
The animated series is created by Adi Shankar and animated by Studio Mir. The story follows Dante (Johnny Yong Bosch), an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire who must confront sinister forces when a portal is opened between the human and demon realms.
Series creator and showrunner Shankar had been working on the show since it was first announced in 2018. He said on the series via a press release, “Our goal wasn’t just to pump out another animated show. My goal is to make one of the best shows on the Netflix platform — period.” With the Season 2 renewal, Shankar says fans should “Get hyped.”
The series also stars Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary Arkham, aka Lady, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, the late Kevin Conroy as VP Baines, and Chris Coppola as Enzo. The original game series is created by Hideki Kamiyama. The first season is streaming now on Netflix. Devil May Cry Season 2 will debut at a later date on the streamer.
