Netflix says that Squid Game fans will be able to see the sophomore season before the year is up. Variety reports that the service said in a letter to shareholders that the global phenomenon, which still stands as Netflix’s most-viewed TV show, will be among the shows arriving in 2024.

According to the site, the letter said:

“Looking ahead, despite last year’s strikes pushing back the launch of some titles, we have a big, bold slate for 2024. Audiences will be able to choose from hit returning dramas like The Diplomat S2, Bridgerton S3, Squid Game S2 and Empress S2; unscripted series like Tour de France: Unchained S2, Love is Blind S6, F1: Drive to Survive S6 and Full Swing S2; and brand new shows like 3 Body Problem (based on the best selling novel and from the Game of Thrones showrunners), Griselda (starring Sofia Vegara, which premieres this week), The Gentlemen (from Guy Ritchie), Eric (starring Benedict Cumberbach), Avatar: The Last Airbender, Cien Años de Soledad, from Colombia based on the novel by Gabriel García Márquez and Senna from Brazil.”

The first season of the South Korean dystopian thriller bowed in 2021 and tallied 265 million views with 2.205 billion hours viewed. It was a critical smash as well with 14 Emmy nominations, including Best Drama Series, and six wins. It’s described as follows:

A mysterious invitation to join the game is sent to people at risk who are in dire need of money. 456 participants from all walks of life are locked into a secret location where they play games in order to win 45.6 billion won. Every game is a Korean traditional children’s game such as Red Light, Green Light, but the consequence of losing is death. Who will be the winner, and what is the purpose behind this game?
