New Writer Tapped For X-Men ’97 Season Three
Marvel has found a writer and showrunner for the third season of X-Men ’97. As Deadline reports, Matthew Chauncey will serve as the writer and showrunner for the forthcoming third season of the hit animated Disney+ show.
Chauncey (What If…?) will replace Beau DeMayo, who exited the Marvel series in March after completing work on the first and yet-to-premiere second seasons of the show. Chauncey will work with X-Men ’97 director Jake Castorena, who has worked on the series from the start. Original X-Men: The Animated Series executive producers Larry Houston and Eric and Julia Lewald are still on the show as consulting producers.
The second season is currently in production. The show, a revival of the classic animated series, was a critical and commercial hit for Disney+ and Marvel in its first season.
