Nicolas Cage has a lot of memorable roles, and he’s about to tackle one of the most iconic characters of all-time in Dracula. Deadline reports that Cage will play Dracula in Renfield, a new monster film from Universal Pictures focused on the vampire’s brainwashed henchman.

The film will be directed by Chris McKay (THe Tomorrow War) from a script by Ryan Ridley, based on an original story outline from Robert Kirkman. It comes amidst Cage’s latest career renaissance, highlighted by his acclaimed performance in this year’s Pig.

Nicolas Hoult will play the titular character in Renfield, who in the original novel was an inmate at an asylum believed to be insane but is actually being used by Dracula as a servant. He has often been portrayed as the real estate agent who preceded Jonathan Harker to Transylvania, as played by Dwight Frye in 1931’s Dracula and Tom Waits in 1992’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Plot details have yet to be revealed for the film, though it is believed to take place in the modern day and not the 1800s like the source material.
