Nintendo Sets Animated Super Mario Bros. Movie With Chris Pratt, More

Nintendo and Illumination are bringing Mario to the big screen in animated form, with a new film featuring the voices of Chris Pratt and more. NBC Universal has announced that an action-comedy animated take on the character is in the works from directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!), working from a script by Matthew Fogel (The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part).

The voice cast includes Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike, and Charles Martinet. The film is set to release during the 2022 holiday season, and you can see the first poster below:
