Paramount Sets 2022 Release Date For Sonic The Hedgehog 2

The sequel for Sonic the Hedgehog is ramping up, and a release date is set for just under two years from now. Paramount Pictures has announced that the sequel to the video game adaptation is set to release on April 8th, 2022.
The first Sonic released in February and despite a harried post-production process, it became a big hit with $306.8 million worldwide on an $85 million budget. The film has also made a significant amount of money on home video, releasing earlier than expected on VOD due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Details on the sequel are not yet known, though it has been confirmed that Jeff Fowler will be back to direct and Pat Casey and Josh Miller will return to write the script.
