Paramount Developing Third Film in A Quiet Place Franchise

November 10, 2020 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

With A Quiet Place 2 set to release next year, Paramount is looking to the future of the franchise with a third film. Deadline reports that Jeff Nichols has been tapped to write and direct a third film in the post-apocalyptic horror series. The new film is based on an original idea by John Krasinski, who co-wrote the first, wrote the second and directed both.

Plot details are currently under wraps for the third film, though Deadline suggests that it may not be a straight sequel and could expand the concept of the franchise. A Quiet PLace was a massive hit for Paramount with over $340 million worldwide against a $17 million budget. The second film’s release was delayed by the pandemic from April and is now set for April 23rd, 2021. The third film would target a 2022 release date.
