Pedro Pascal Bella Ramsay The Last of Us

We have our lead stars in the upcoming The Last of Us series, and they are none other than The Mandalorian and Lady Mormont. Deadline reports that Pedro Pascal will play Joel in the HBO series, while THR tells us that Bella Ramsey — best known for her fan-favorite role in Game of Thrones as young Lyanna Mormont — will play Ellie in the show.

Of course, Pascal also starred in Game of Thrones as Oberyn Martell. Pascal and Ramsey never shared time on screen however, with Oberyn dying in season four while Lyanna did not come around until season six.

The series is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) along with Neil Druckmann, who is the creative director for the Naughty Dog game. It is described as follows:

The Last of Us is set twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
