Power Rangers Star Says Franchise May Be Rebooted Again

One of the stars of the 2017 Power Rangers film says that the franchise is moving on, but as a reboot. Dacre Montgomery, who played Jason/The Red Ranger in the film, did a Reddit AMA and, when asked about a potential sequel, said he believed that a film is in the works, but not involving them.

“I think there is a movie in the works but it’s not with me and the cast,“ the actor wrote. “So, yes — but not with us.”

The film stared Montgomery alongside Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Banks. It was not financially successful, bringing in $142.3 million worldwide against a $100 million budget plus marketing costs.
