Deadline reports that production will begin soon on the second season of The Witcher, just as a new cast member has joined the series. Carmel Laniado (Dolittle) will join the cast in a supporting role for a minimum of three episodes. She will play Violet, a young girl “whose playful and whimsical demeanour is a front for a smarter and more sadistic character.”

Filming will happen in the UK this month, with shooting in Scotland and Eastern Europe. It’s reportedly being shot at Arborfield Studios, which is forty miles west of London. The first season was shot in Hungary, Poland and Spain. The series stars Henry Cavill. Netflix said that the show is set to become their largest “season one TV series ever”, watched by 76 million “member households”.
