The Spartacus saga continues with a brand-new series, set to premiere later this year on Starz. During Saturday’s SDCC 2025 Spartacus: House of Ashur panel, Starz debuted a brand-new teaser trailer for the brutal, bloody upcoming new historical drama.
Spartacus: House of Ashur presents a new alternate scenario where Ashur (Nick Tarabay) ends up surviving through the events of the original series. The show presents a new story of what happens if Ashur didn’t die on Mount Vesuvius at the end of Spartacus: Vengeance? As a reward for helping the Romans kill Spartacus, he’s gifted the ludus school that previously belonged to Batiatus.
However, now that Ashur is among the noble class, he finds himself in a snake den of other nobles who look down upon him. The series also co-stars Graham McTavish as Ashur’s new doctore, Korris, and Tenika Davis as Cachilla, a fierce gladiatrix. Steven S DeKnight, who executive-produced and was showrunner on the original series, returns to oversee House of Ashur.
You can view the newly revealed SDCC trailer for Spartacus: House of Ashur below. It looks like the release period for the show has been updated, as it’s now debuting later this winter, rather than fall, on Starz.
