During today’s Masters of the Universe 40th Anniversary Fan Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, legendary actor William Shatner (Star Trek) made a surprise appearance. He also announced that he’s joining the cast of the upcoming season of Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution. This will be the continuation last year’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

Shatner joined the Netflix show’s executive producer and lead writer, Kevin Smith, who was hosting the panel, onstage. The two joked about Shatner’s involvement with the show, but they are keeping his role in the series a secret for now.

Smith discussed working with Shatner and getting the chance to direct him. Shatner said in response, “Kevin, in a moment, you will have the honor of directing me.” Smith retorted to an enthusiastic audience, “It took Captain Kirk to shut up Silent Bob.”

The panel also featured a first look at the upcoming third season for the Netflix CG-animated series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which you can see below. Revolution does not yet have a launch date, but it will also be streaming on Netflix. The first season starred Chris Wood as Prince Adam/He-Man, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Liam Cunningham as Man-at-Arms, and Stephen Roote as Cringer/Battlecat.

The Thursday Comic-Con panel also included live-action Masters of the Universe star Dolph Lundgren, Revelation voice-actor Tiffany Smith (Andra), Netflix’s CG He-Man writer and executive producer Rob David, and Pixel Dan.
