Star Wars: Ahsoka Casts Role of Star Wars Rebels’ Sabine Wren

Sabine Wren is officially coming to live-action, with the of Star Wars Rebels character being cast for the Ahsoka series. Deadline reports that Natasha Liu Bordizzo has joined the series as Sabine in a lead role opposite Rosario Dawson’s titular character.

Bordizzo is best known from Netflix’s series The Society, as well as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. She also had a supporting role in The Greatest Showman and appeared in Guns Akimbo.

Sabine is a Mandalorian warrior and a main character in the animated Rebels. An Imperial Academy dropout, she served as the weapons expert on the Ghost and is a graffiti artist. She was voiced by Tiya Sircar in the animated series. She was last seen in the series finale teaming with Ashoka to locate Ezra Bridger, who had been pulled through hyperspace to an unknown destination along with Grand Admiral Thrawn. There is a lot of speculation that Ezra may appear in the series, though that is not confirmed at this time.

Star Wars: Ahsoka is written by Dave Filoni and executive produced by Filoni and Jon Favreau. It will be the follow-up to Dawson’s live-action debut as Ahsoka from The Mandalorian season two.
