Star Wars: Episode IX Will Begin A Year After Last Jedi Ended

John Boyega has revealed in a new interview that Star Wars: Episode IX will take place a year after The Last Jedi. Boyega revealed the news in an interview with Empire. He specifically said that the film is “roughly one year” after the events at the end of the previous film.

The film opens on December 20th, 2019 and will star Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan, Matt Smith, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, the late Carrie Fisher, and Billy Dee Williams.
