Stephen Colbert Responds To Les Moonves Getting Fired At CBS

As we previously reported, Les Moonves has been fired as CEO of CBS after allegations of sexual misconduct after an expose from Ronan Farrow. During last night’s episode of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert gave his thoughts on the situation. Here are highlights:

On hearing the news: “If you watch the news, you may have heard the head of this network, Leslie Moonves, was forced to step down yesterday. It’s never a good sign when you’re the subject of a Ronan Farrow double dip.”

On Farrow’s expose: “The article is extremely disturbing, and I’m not surprised. Les Moonves is gone — for at least nine months, until he does a set at the Comedy Cellar.”

His past statement urging CBS to investigate: “Everybody believes in accountability until it’s their guy, and make no mistake, Les Moonves is my guy. But accountability is meaningless unless it’s for everybody, whether it’s the leader of a network or the leader of the free world.”
