Stranger Things Sets Record For Netflix Viewing With Season 4, Volume 1

Stranger Things Season Four, Volume 1 has set a new viewership record on Netflix in its first three days. Netflix announced on Tuesday that the first volume of the season was the most-watched English TV series for the week ending May 29th with 286.7 million hours viewed. That makes the volume the most-watched weekend for an English-language TV show on the service.

The new volume bowed on Friday with seven episodes; the final two episodes of the season will arrive on July 1st. The debut of the new episodes also pushed the previous seasons back into the Netflix Top 10 for English-language TV. The Lincoln Lawyer was ranked #2 for the format and language, notching 64.82 million hours in its third week.

Meanwhile, Spanish thriller Wrong Side of the Tracks took #1 among non-English TV shows with 61.62 million hours viewed, followed by season three of Who Killed Sara? (31.84 million hours). The English-language films list was topped by romcom A Perfect Pairing at 32.63 million hours in its second week, followed by Senior Year with 24.56 million hours in its third week.

Finally, the Hindi language version of RRR claimed the top spot for non-English films with 18.36 million hours in its second week, and F*ck Love Too was #2 with 15.6 million hours.
