The Broken Lizard troupe is back for some more shenanigans as Super Troopers 3 is a go for an August 2026 release. Searchlight Pictures made the announcement today and will be releasing the upcoming sequel.
The new franchise installment reunites the cast of the first two films, with writer and director Jay Chandrasekhar back to direct the threequel. Chandrasekhar also reprises his onscreen role as Thorny, along with Kevin Heffernan as Farva, Steve Lemme as Mac, Paul Soter as Foster, and Erik Stolhanske as Rabbit. Also back are series veterans Brian Cox as Captain John O’Hagan and Marisa Coughlan as Ursula Hanson.
Also joining the cast is Oscar-winner Nat Faxon, who previously collaborated with Broken Lizard on Beerfest, The Slammin’ Salmon, and Club Dread, portraying the role of Captain Todd Markowski. Other new cast members include Chace Crawford as Baker Buchanan and Andrew Dismukes as Coy Burns, Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Sakina Jaffrey, Jon Rudnitsky, and Lisa Gilroy.
No other plot details have been released for the film. The sequel comes out eight years after the second movie, which was released in 2018. The sequel grossed $31 million worldwide, surpassing the 2002 release of the original feature, which grossed $23 million worldwide.
Super Troopers 3 rolls into theaters on August 7, 2026.
