Superman, Lois Lane Roles Cast For Superman: Legacy

We have a new Superman and Lois Lane, with David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan set to play the roles in Superman: Legacy. Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday that Corenswet (The Politician, Pearl) will take on the role of the Man of Steel in the upcoming film, which will relaunch the DCU, while Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, House of Cards) will play Lois in the film.

The news comes after weeks of scrutiny over who would play the roles. Deadline reports that the decision was made after the two were among a small group of finalists to do screen tests in full costume and makeup for DC co-heads Peter Safran and James Gunn.

Gunn is writing and directing the film, which will relaunch the DC film franchise as the DCU. The next roles that will look to be cast are Lex Luthor and the likes of Jimmy Olsen and other supporting characters.

In addition to Superman: Legacy, the new DCU will feature Batman: The Brave the Bold (to be directed by Andy Muschietti), The Authority, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and Swamp Thing as feature films. The animated Creature Commandos, Waller, Green Lantern TV series Lanterns, and Booster Gold are all plotted out as TV series in the DCU continuity.
