Sylvester Stallone Says He’s Writing a Rocky Prequel Series
Sylvester Stallone found inspiration yesterday and has begun an idea for a prequel series to Rocky. The actor posted to Instagram on Monday and noted that he imagines it as a ten episode a season show that would run for a few seasons, as you can see below.
Stallone noted that he hopes the series happens, writing:
“This may be the strangest posting yet. I started out this morning by writing a treatment for a Rocky prequel For streaming. Ideally 10 episodes for a few seasons to really get to the heart of the Characters in there younger years – Here is a small portion of how my creative writing Process starts … Hope it happens – And then I needed to clear my head so I went fishing … Talk about extremes! Keep punching my friends.”
The Rocky franchise found new life with Creed and its sequel, the first of which earned Stallone his first Oscar nomination since the original film. A third entry in the franchise is on the way, with Michael B. Jordan directing and a Thanksgiving 2022 release date set.
