While several films have had their release dates pushed because they fell during the COVID-19 pandemic, a couple may be pushed due to virus-related production woes in The Batman and The Matrix 4. Variety published a feature on films in production impacted by the spread of the coronavirus, which noted that both films are likely to be pushed back after production was halted on them due to concerns about the novel coronavirus.

The Batman is currently scheduled for May 21st, 2021 and Matrix 4 is set to bow on June 25th of that year. Both films had done some filming, with The Batman seven weeks in and Matrix set to move from San Fransischo to Berlin. The site notes there is an “outside chance” the films might hit their release date, but noted that the filming process delays will make it unlikely.

Both films are produced by Warner Bros. and are major parts of the studio’s slate for next year. Warner Bros. has not made any public statements about delaying either at this time.
