DC is finally giving an Arrowverse series to one of their Trinity, developing a Superman & Lois series. Deadline reports that the series is getting a standalone pilot (not a backdoor pilot as has often been the case) which will star Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch reprising their roles as the iconic couple.

The series comes from Todd Helbing (The Flash), Arrowverse architect Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. TV, with Helbing writing the series. It will explore the lives of both Superman and Lois Lane as they navigate the trials and tribulations that come part and parcel with being working parents in today’s society.

This will mark the first official CW series for one of DC’s three big superheroes, who have long been more or less “off limits” for the CW. We have yet to see Wonder Woman or Batman, though this year’s Batwoman often makes reference to the currently-missing Bruce/Batman. Hoechlin has played the Man of Steel since 2016 through Supergirl and some of the yearly crossovers, while Tulloch first played Lois in last year’s “Elseworlds” crossover. Both will appear in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

Superman & Lois joins an untitled Arrow spinoff with Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy reprising their roles as Mia Smoke, Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake as new Arrowverse-related shows currently in development.
