The New Mutants Gets a New IMAX Poster, Tickets Going on Sale Next Week for Theatrical Release

Walt Disney Studios released some new IMAX poster artwork for 20th Century Studios’ upcoming horror thriller, The New Mutants, which you can check out below. Per Disney, the film will be opening in cinemas and IMAX theaters nationwide on August 28. It should be noted that’s referring to cinemas that are only able to open now, which is limited due to the currently ongoing global pandemic.

Additionally, Variety reports that the film is still scheduled for its August 28 theatrical release. Theater owners will begin selling advance tickets starting next week. Since the pandemic started, about 1,300 of the country’s 6,021 theaters that had to shut down have been able to reopen.

The IMAX release for the film features a digitally remastered version for the IMAX Experience using the proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology.

The release for The New Mutants film has already been delayed a number of times. The upcoming comic book movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, and Alice Braga and is loosely based on Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz’s beloved “Demon Bear” saga.
