Timothy Chalamet Plays Edward Scissorhands’ Son In Cadillac Super Bowl Spot
Cadillac’s Super Bowl spot was a follow-up to Edward Scissorhands, with Winona Ryder reprising her role and Timothy Chalamet playing the titular character’s son. You can see the ad below for Cadillac’s Handsfree car, in which Ryder returns as Kim, the mother of young Edgar Scissorhands.
The spot features the same visual palette as the 1990 Tim Burton film, which starred Johnny Depp in the titular role, as well as Danny Elfman’s score from the movie. Burton said of the TV spot in a statement:
“It’s rare when a work you’re proud of continues to live on and evolve with the times, even after 30 years. I’m glad to see Edgar coping with the new world! I hope both fans and those being introduced to Edward Scissorhands for the first time enjoy it.”
