Tommy Wirkola Confirmed to Direct Violent Night 2

It’s official: Tommy Wirkola is back to direct the Violent Night sequel. THR reports that Wirkola, who directed the first movie, will be returning to helm the second entry.

In addition, Universal Pictures has set a December 4th, 2026 release date for the film, which will see David Harbour return as the badass Santa who went through a Die Hard situation in the first film as he protected a little girl and her family from criminals on Christmas night.

Story details have yet to be revealed for the film. The first movie released in December of 2022 and grossed $76.6 million worldwide against a $20 million budget.
