Upcoming Batman Film May Include The Penguin

Details are still scarce for the next upcoming Batman movie, simply titled The Batman, the latest attempt to reboot the character. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, writing for the film is well underway and is set to include many familiar villains from Batman’s famous rogues gallery, in particular suggesting that the Penguin could make his return to the theaters for the first time since Danny DeVito’s depiction of the character in the 1992 film, Batman Returns.

The report also notes that source claimed a ballpark of half a dozen villains are being planned to appear in the film, specifically alluding to Catwoman as well. No further details were given, as to who else would be involved or how major a role they would play in the story.

Matt Reeves is the writer for the film and is said to still be making tweaks. The Batman is expected to begin shooting in late 2019 or early 2020.
