There’s been a push online to have Norman Reedus play Ghost Rider in the MCU, and The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang is all for it. Several people on social media have been posted as of late that Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon in the AMC zombie drama, should be the person who brings Ghost Rider into the MCU. The speculation picked up after, as Screen Geek notes, Reedus liked several tweets wanting him to take on the role.

Kang, who has served as showrunner for Walking Dead since 2018’s season nine, took to Twitter on Monday to show her support, writing:

”Just saying… Norman Reedus as Ghost Rider WOULD be rad”

To be clear, there is no indication that an incarnation of Ghost Rider is coming to the MCU at this time. The character made their non-MCU live-action debut through Nicolas Cage’s portrayal in the two 2007 film and its 2012 follow-up Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Another take later appeared in Agents of SHIELD, with Gabriel Luna playing the Robbie Reyes version of the character. However, that series diverged from MCU canon in its later seasons and is not necessarily considered canon anymore as a result.
