Warner Bros. has pushed out the release dates of two DC films in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Deadline reports that the studio has moved Fury of the Gods back to March 17th, 2023 from its most recent December 21st, 2022 release date. The move for Shazam fills the spot left by Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which has been bumped back from that same March release date to December 25th, 2023.

There’s no known reason for the moves at the moment, though it does notably move the Shazam sequel out of the window of competition with Avatar: The Way of Water which releases on December 16th.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi and the rest of the first film’s main cast including Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Faithe Herman, Meagan Good, Ian Chen, Ross Bulter, Grace Fulton, Jovan Arman, D.J. Cotrona, Marta Milans, and Cooper Andrews. It will also feature new cast members Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zeigler.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Kidman, Ben Affleck and more.
