Having reclaimed the rights earlier this year, Wes Craven’s estate is now looking to take pitches for a new A Nightmare on Elm Street. Bloody Disgusting reports that Craven’s estate is now actively taking pitches for new content based on the iconic horror franchise.

The site notes that there is word that the estate is looking at pitches for feature film as well as for a potential HBO Max series. There’s no word on exactly what the estate’s plans are or whether any deals with distributors and financiers are locked down.

The estate reclaimed the rights to the franchise earlier this year by using the the same tactic that Victor Miller did to claim rights to the Friday the 13th franchise, utilizing the portion of copyright law allows for authors to, upon fulfillment of some requirements, take back copyright they have sold after 35 years.
