Yellowjackets To End With Upcoming Fourth Season

The Yellowjackets are coming home, and the fourth season will reveal all as it’s the show’s final run. Showtime announced on Friday that the upcoming season of the survival maybe-supernatural thriller will conclude the series.
Series creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson said in the Instagram announcement:
”After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season. We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job — our responsibility — is to listen.
Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us, and we’re so very grateful to the brilliant cast, crew and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life. Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you! We can’t wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it…delicious.”
Yellowjackets was a huge success for Showtime when it premiered in November 2021. Set in two time periods, the series documents a teenage girls soccer team who must try to survive a plane crash in 1996, as well as the survivors 25 years later. Starring veterans like Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, and Tawny Cypress, it also helped make stars out of the likes of Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sophie Thatcher.
The series has earned eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations and multiple other awards, and has remained a strong performer for Showtime with season three earning its highest numbers yet – although it also earned the lowest (though still very good) reviews with an 84% RT critic aggregate score.
Production is set to begin on the fourth season early in 2026 with a debut later in the year.
