Zoe Kravitz to Play Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman

Matt Reeves has found the Selina Kyle for Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, casting Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman in The Batman. THR reports that Kravitz has been cast as the iconic DC villain/antihero in Reeves’ film, with the decision coming down over the weekend after a month-long testing process.

The site notes that Kravitz was in contention against Ana de Armas, Ella Balinska, and Eiza Gonzalez for the role, all of whom read with Robert Pattinson. Kravitz joins a cast that also includes Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon. The film is described as a grounded take with a large rogue’s gallery as the antagonists. Kravitz has past experience with the role in a vocal capacity, having voiced Catwoman in The Batman Lego Movie.

The Batman will release on June 25th, 2021.
