Zombieland: Double Tap is doing well at the box office and with critics, and it nearly had another potential fan favorite moment in a Ghostbusters reunion. THR spoke with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who revealed that the original script included a scene that would have reunited Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson.

“Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson got Bill Murray out on a golf course and were trying to convince him to do a sequel to Ghostbusters,” Reese told the site about the film’s original screenplay. “Dan Aykroyd becomes a zombie and attacks Bill and there are golf carts going in the lake and golf clubs being swung at people.”

This, obviously, was a version of the script from before Ramis passed away in 2014. After that, and with the 2016 and 2020 Ghostbusters films happening, the scene didn’t work and was ultimately abandoned.

Zombieland: Double Tap released last Friday and has grossed $28.9 million domestically and $34.5 million worldwide in its first four days.
