AAA Latin American Title Officially Vacated on Tonight’s AAA Show Following El Hijo del Vikingo’s Knee Injury

The AAA Latin American Championship is officially vacant.

Tonight’s episode of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide saw Dorian Roldan and Omos come out to the ring to address the future of the championship.

Dorian revealed that El Hijo del Vikingo, who suffered a knee injury while preparing for his match with NXT’s EK Prosper ahead of the June 30 episode of NXT, will be out for many, many weeks. He blamed AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio for sending Vikingo to NXT and SmackDown and paving the way for his injury.

Dorian said he’ll sue Mysterio for negligence and proceeded to crown Omos as the new champion. However, Rey came out and demanded that Omos hand over the belt to him or risk getting suspended.

Omos shoved the belt into Rey’s chest. The AAA GM then announced that he’ll announce the path toward crowning the new Latin American Champion next Saturday. The Hall of Famer further told Roldan that if he wanted to sue him, he would see the latter in court.

Later, Damian Priest expressed his desire to after the vacant championship via a video package.
