– PWInsider has an update on the future of Ace Steel in AEW following the news that AEW has terminated Punk’s contracts with the company “with cause.” According to PWInsider’s report, Ace Steel (aka Chris Guy) has been released once again by AEW earlier today.

Steel, who trained Punk and Colt Cabana, was brought into AEW as a coach and producer earlier in 2022. He was allegedly involved in the backstage altercation between Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega that took place following AEW All Out 2022 in September of that year. It’s alleged that Steel bit Omega’s arm during the incident.

In the aftermath of the event, Steel was let go in October 2022, and he was the only person who was fired from the company in the aftermath of the incident following All Out. It was later reported that Steel was quietly brought to the company several months later and was working remotely as a producer. It’s rumored that CM Punk demanded Ace Steel be allowed to return to work in AEW behind the scenes.

AEW later decided that Steel could work remotely for AEW, but he would not be able to work physically onsite for the TV tapings. This resulted in a delay of AEW announcing Punk’s return to the company as the face of the new Collision program that launched on TNT in June since Punk wanted Steel to be able to return to the road as an agent following Collision’s debut.

Before the latest backstage incident at AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium, which led to Punk’s termination, PWInsider reports there was talk over the last month that AEW was looking for a space in the Florida area for Steel to train and work with talents. However, due to today’s news, that will no longer happen. CM Punk has not yet commented or responded to the announcement of his firing by AEW.
