AEW has been granted an extension of time to serve Ryan Nemeth in the legal dispute between them, with AEW believing that Nemeth is evading being served. Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reported on Friday that the magistrate in the case has granted AEW a request for more time to serve Nemeth, ruling that the company now has until December 2nd to do so.

The judge’s order notes:

“In the event the defendant [Nemeth] and his counsel are monitoring the docket, they are reminded of this rule: ‘If a defendant located within the United States fails, without good cause, to sign and return a waiver requested by a plaintiff within the United States, the court must impose on the defendant: (A) the expenses incurred in making service; and (B) the reasonable expenses, including attorney’s fees, of any motion to collect those service expenses.”

Essentially, the court is warning Nemeth that should he evade being served, he will be responsible for AEW and the court’s expenses in doing so.

Nemeth, who is currently part of TNA, has been engaged in a legal dispute with AEW since February of 2025 when he sued AEW, Tony Khan, and CM Punk in February of 2025 alleging assault, breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing and intentional interference with prospective advantage. AEW pushed to send the case into arbitration, which Nemeth agreed to in April of that year.

AEW filed a petition in June accusing Nemeth of misrepresenting and misleading them by filing to voluntarily dismiss his lawsuit and enter arbitration in bad faith. AEW is trying to compel Nemeth to arbitrate the dispute at a JAMS administrative office nearest to Duval County, Florida, and be adjudicated under Florida law.
