AEW Reportedly Looking At New PPV In July

AEW may be set to hold a new PPV in July, according to a new report. Andrew Zarian reported on The Mat Men Podcast (h/t to F4W Online that the PPV will be titled AEW Redemption. The report notes that the official date is not yet confirmed, but that July is the spot that would be open considering May is Double Or Nothing, June is AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door, and August is AEW All In in London.
The report goes on make clear that it is not yet confirmed. It is still possible that the company could rename an existing show in All Out, WrestleDream, Full Gear, or Worlds End. However, that possibility is described as “very unlikely.”
Assuming that Redemption does become a new PPV, it would bring the company to 10 PPVs a year for the first time. They have slowly expanded their output of PPVs from three in 2009 up, with four in 2020 and 2021, then five in 2022, eight PPVs in 2023, and nine the last two years.
The company filed a trademark application for AEW Redemption on April 13th, the day after Dynasty took place.
