The AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship is set to conclude at Full Gear, according to the latest report. AEW announced the brackets for the tournament late last month. The tournament kicked off on last week’s Dynamite, but the date for the finals has yet to be announced. The WON reports that the finals are likely to take place at the PPV.

AEW traditionally reveals when the finals for their tournaments will take place beforehand. However, with two weeks go to before Full Gear there’s been no announcement for the tournament at the PPV. The report notes that AEW could not announce it yet because Mercedes Mone has a match on the PPV. Mone challenges Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear. Had the finals been announced beforehand, it would have been a strong indication that she and Athena were set to lose. They in fact did lose in the first round to the Babes of Wrath. The match went down on this week’s Dynamite.

With Mone and Athena out of the tournament, AEW is expected to announce the finals soon. Dave Meltzer notes that he expects Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa to make it to the finals. They would face either the Babes of Wrath or the Sisters of Sin. Those two teams are set for a semifinal match. Skye Blue and Julia Hart beat Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata in the first round.

There are four shows left before Full Gear, and four matches in the tournament left. AEW Full gear takes place on November 22nd from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It airs live on PPV, including through HBO Max. 411 will have live coverage of the show.
