AJ Styles Reflects On Zilla Fatu’s ‘Awesome’ WWE NXT Debut

Zilla Fatu made his WWE NXT debut on last week’s show, and AJ Styles was a big fan of how it played out. As noted, Fatu made his debut on last week’s show when he attacked Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller in their NXT Championship #1 contenders match. Fatu is now part of the NXT Championship match at NXT Heatwave, where Tony D’Angelo will defend the title against Fatu, Montana, and Waller.

Styles produced that match, and he had high praise for Fatu on The AJ Styles Show. You can see the highlights below:

On Fatu’s Debut:
“Lo and behold, we get Zilla Fatu come out from the people and take it to both Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana, and it was freaking awesome. He looks like a star. He looks like a star. Just his presence. It’s a very intimidating presence. And I wish Samoans weren’t so scary, because they’re just actually great human beings. But they just have a look about them that makes them look scary.

“And man, Zilla Fatu looks so intimidating. And if you don’t know how scary he is, he did those splashes without kneepads. Don’t know if you knew that. But yeah man, it was a really cool –the fans went crazy in NXT. So yeah, it was a very cool moment.”

On the Fans Popping For Fatu:

“Yeah, I think they were ready. They didn’t know, but they were ready. I mean, think about it. We just had Cruz Montana come in last week and then the next week is Zilla Fatu. And we’re getting Grayson Waller from you Smackdown or Raw, whichever one he was on. Like, main event talent, NXT, two new guys. Holy crap, it was great.”
