On the latest episode of The ARN Show, Arn Anderson talked about the infamous Doomsday Cage Match from WCW Uncensored 1996, calling it a “huge mistake” and one of the worst main events in the company’s history. You can check out some highlights below:

On the match: “Our listeners get the truth from me. Sometimes it’s whether it’s the right thing or not, or a popular thing, they get the truth. It’s the only way you can have any credibility. And there has to be a time where you just go, ‘You know what? It was a huge mistake.’

“That made no sense. I’ve watched the match back several times, and it’s just, no rhyme or reason. Nothing was thought through. And when you shake and shake and shake the tree and no apples fall out, you figure out you’ve been in the wrong tree. That was terrible, horrible.”

On his primary issue with it: “My gripe with this one is, when you shake it all out and everything’s said and done, what did you just see? And you saw two guys beat about 10 guys. Now, let me just ask our listening audience, are you going to buy that? Are you going to go for that? There are certain achievements that babyfaces have to make or they have to overcome. Set goals, let the audience get behind them and help them reach those goals. But when you got eight, nine, ten people and two people, all you end up doing — it’s just my opinion — is you may turn the audience on you that that’s just a little bit too much Superman s**t to be believable or credible. And you would lose, I think — and I was in there with them — I think you after a certain amount of time, it’s like, ‘Come on.’”
