Arn Anderson Recalls Working WWF TV Tapings

On the latest episode of his ARN podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson was asked whether he and Tully Blanchard were required to stay for the entirety of the WWF’s marathon television tapings, or whether they could leave once their work was finished. You can check out his comments below:
On the road:
“As soon as we were done, we were out the door. We were traveling so much then, and we had such limited downtime when you were on the road — that was a gift. They weren’t about to bitch about somebody leaving early once your match was done, because we always had another trip, another set of tapings the next day. So we had to get there. Matter of fact, it was just professional that you would leave and drive another 300 miles if you had to.”
On how the schedule left no room for keeping up with anything outside the business:
“I knew about [those shows], I just never got a chance to watch them. When you wrestle virtually every day — and in those days, taping stuff was not a big thing. If you missed it, you missed it.”
