Recent reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter hint that Jesse Ventura’s current agreement with WWE may have reached its conclusion following his absence from the company’s most recent Saturday Night’s Main Event. Ventura, who was brought back for a nostalgia-focused role at SNME XXXIX, did not appear on the latest edition of the show on November 1 and was not mentioned during the broadcast.
According to Dave Meltzer, Ventura’s deal was believed to be a one-year agreement around special appearances at Saturday Night’s Main Event. His contract may have wrapped up with the last event on his schedule. WWE has not issued an official statement regarding Ventura’s status or future involvement.
He noted that Ventura’s name was “not a major topic of discussion.” His most recent commentary appearance during the Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest cage match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX reportedly received mixed feedback, which may have influenced the decision not to feature him in later broadcasts.
Following that event, Ventura’s on-air presence was “downplayed.” Even while his contract was presumably still active, he did not make any appearances or receive mentions.
At this stage, WWE has neither confirmed nor denied whether Jesse Ventura remains under contract. His future with the promotion, including the possibility of sporadic appearances, remains uncertain. It should be noted that Ventura recently recieved his own character model on WWE 2K25’s Saturday Night’s Main Event downloadable content (DLC).
