Backstage Note on WWE Status of Aalyah Mysterio

As previously reported, Aalyah Gutierrez, aka Aalyah Mysterio, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, started training at the WWE Performance Center last week. So what exactly does this mean in terms of her WWE status, and is she signed to a WWE contract? Sean Ross Sapp answered a fan question on Aalyah’s signing status in the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A.

With regard to whether or not Aalyah is signed to WWE, Sapp confirmed that the younger Mysterio sibling is signed to WWE and also listed on some internal rosters. However, it’s unknown what WWE plans to do with Aalyah in the near future.

PWInsider reported earlier that Aalyah was listed internally in WWE under her real name, and she’s not currently using Mysterio as a surname, in contrast to her father and her brother, Dominik Mysterio.
